AW: [SE/NO/GB] Tourenplanung Januar-März 2010
I agree with Järven, the huts along Padjelanta and Kungsleden are so close that it is no problem to go there, even for a newbee. I have walked there several times in winter, hut-to hut.
But one thing puzzles me. Why do you not include Norway in your plans also? IMHO (Yes I'm biased
) then one of the biggest assets for Norway is that you may start walking with little experience and with a minimum of package. Because Norway has so many huts, the distance between them is often minimal. Sweden has only 50 mountain huts belonging to STF, Norway has 450 belonging to DNT! In addition there is food on several of the non-staffed huts in southern Norway. This makes it easy to plan for the trip, you do not need to carry so much with you.
The pages of DNT has all the information you need. Best time in both Norway and Sweden is july to september. As a first trip I would have walked Hardangervidda or Rondane. In the Hardangervidda site press <Vis i kart> for a map of the area with huts marked. The site for Rondane is in norwegian only, sorry.
But the maps are OK.
