[engl.] Travel Tips for Romania!

Hi Everybody!
I am Bob, from Romania, 26 years old (almost).
I was born and grew up in Tulcea, the gate town for Danube Delta.
I am a backpacker since i was 12, started travelling first a lot in Romania, and just since a few years i started a bit over the Romanian borders...(not much).
I graduated Environmental Sciences in Babes Bolyiai University, Cluj Napoca, Romania.

I am an Adventure Travel Guide in Romania since i was 17 years old (unofficial - and did it for fun, having paid just the travel expends) and i got my official license as such a guide last year. My heaviest experience is in Canoe Tours in Danube Delta.

I am also trained as Adventure Pedagogic Trainer, and until now i did some team trainings, too. Volunteer and paid, both.
I also get myself involved a lot in the Civil Society in Romania, trying to bring a change....


Please, post here if you have any questions about traveling to Romania.

I will try to answer personally as fast as possible, but it might happen some delays (hopefully, not longer than 2 weeks - and only because during traveling, i visit seldom the Internet).

If anybody else can answer on some questions posted here, feel free to do it!!!

If i consider wrong the answer, i will say it! (not delete it!)

Also, if somebody has something against some of my answers, is also welcome to say it! Nobody is perfect!

thanks... well, of course i was well prepared for romania. i was informed about the places, even though there are very few books (two old books) in german with information about the mountains. the rest is easy to handel with the lonelyplanet guidebook. if you want you can look in our outdoorwiki here and check the information i gave for others. and of course you can write articles about romania there and correct the informations given there...

hehe, if you look at the very top of the page, there you find "Projekt", "Forum", "Wiki", "Fotos" and "Shop". just klick at "wiki" and again, log in and look around... there are some articles i wrote about romania. flachlandtiroler already gave you one...
just try, you can't make unchangeable mistakes! just test it!

yes, i got it...i will look over it and i will try to get it...
The problem is that i am common only with the spoken german...the reading and the writing is a disaster for me...
(What can i do?! i learned German just talking with people... )

i will check what i think there should be added.
and about the texts....sure. i will send them in english. But thinking that those will get into an enciclopedy (even a little one), i will take a bit of time to make them as correct as possible.
this won't happen to soon, because the day after tomorrow i want to go a bit in Thüringer Wald.... than...gotta get a bit around in Romania.
But as it is no rush for those details, i believe it would be allright also if i send them a bit later....or?

yeah, sure.. just take your time! the wiki will still exist in a few weeks so you don't have to hurry... perhaps you could also write a new article about the delta - i'm sure you know that area very well... and lots of insider information - PLEASE!!!! it took me half a day to get away from the expensive tourist-sharks in the delta... i wanted a trip with a real fisherman at work and not with a touristguide...
well, have a nice time during your tours in germany and romania!!!!

you are right about everything. i can, and i will try to do it as asked..
(funny is that i am not a shark, but i am also a tour guide...so, i have to find a way to give my bread for free ).

But my target customers are not really on this forum....most of the people here travel on their own, they don't need a guide...so...SURE!

What i can tell you fast about the fisherman and the tourists:
The less fishermen who still have a license (so the legal right for industrial fishing), are not allowed (by law) to do tourism activities...so, theoretically, it is impossible to get in such a fisherman boat.

Practically...what is impossible?!;)

hey, that's great! thank you! hehe, sure you are not a shark, that's clear - otherwise you wouldn't be here in the forum...
yeah, you are right, the guys in here don't take guides - so you won't loose customers... and if a normal traveller would read that information, he would be just too afraid to do it all alone... so you won't stay hungry after you gave your informations - there are not many people who want to travel without a tourguide...
concerning the fishermen: yeah, they told me, that they are not allowed - but they helped me and then i could go out at least with a hobby-fisher...

i was really new in forum stuff...so, i almost got taken as a spammer.

anyways, i've seen that there is space for mistakes also in here, so my mistake was understood, and forgiven. But still...now i posted the same material also in 2 other forums...(i really need other peoples' opinion), and they weren't so hard on me..nevermind.

And don't worry, i am not affraid i will starve after sharing infos here. i would be pissed if i would realise that i waste time for nothing (that nobody needs this information). Now, that somebody asked, i will try my best...

haha, yeah... our admins and mods are very good and fast! 10 min - just unbelivable...
well, you see - there are lots of commercial spammers, and they like this forum here... so commercial spam is deleted immediately...
yeah, smaller forums are different - they don't have such a problem or they aren't interested...
don't worry - you won't waste your time here... tzhere are lots of interested people here and you will get lots of information in exchange. probably you already realized that...
by the way - in the wiki you can link your page when you write a neutral article...
concerning your page: it's a nice page (except the prices - but i wouldn't do that anyway ) and the travel-tips are good for beginners... the page looks professional - and it's good, that you have an international team.

if i would have any worry...i wouldn't be here...
Still i am doing it for fun....
and the other forums...they are actually much bigger than this one..but this is not the point. there, they understood that actually i send to some neutral content in the page, and, because of the structure of my page, i could send only to those travel tips, without nothing else around (due the frame set based building, if you link to an inner page, u see no other menu, offerts, contact data...nothing.)
But nevermind this....i made it somehow to post a message here, even if the coontent is not exactly the one i wish...hmm....now comes an idea...

Thank you for the opinions about my page! (you have no idea how hard i try to hold so low those prices - don't forget, ther's included also food, water, overnights, everything). but...i don't adress to low budget travellers...(like me ).

i wouldn't also book an adventure tour myself. i get my own adventures, no matter where....i could have some great ones even in Germany..(even if people don't consider it so exotic)....and don't ask me of how many in Romania....but never with a guide...

Funny hah?! i Cut the brench of my own job... ...dancing on my grave...i hope not too many people realised what i say...

Ok...this is getting long here...thanx for the tips.
And because we get too far away from the topic of this forum...perhaps we should make another one...

hehe, you are a funny guy... sure, the prices are not bad - but for 300 euro i stay in romania for one month and not only for 5 days... but for organized tours it's good.
sure, you go with a guide - you are your own guide... it's the same how i do it... the best adventures you have are when you are alone...
