Quizfrage: Downmat 9 in Schneehöhle?

Ich habe meine downmat9 zwar schon wieder verkauft(aus anderen Gründen), aber das Problem fand ich doch reizvoll genug, mal nachzufragen, wer vielleicht schon mal vor folgendem Problem stand und wie es gelöst wurde:

Schneehöhle fertig gegraben, in etwa so: Die X´se sind die Wände, anders hat das leider nicht gefunzt....O ´s sind Schnee

Wie bekommt man die Matte rein, ohne das kiloweise Schnee an den Ecken runterrieselt?
a) Pumpe ich in der Höhle, so muß ich auf der Matte knien und
der Pumpsack muß am Ende angebracht werden, passt nicht in der Höhle und dauert sehr lange, dazu sehr unbequem (Kniekehlen)!
b) ?? -richtige Antwort. aber noch offen!


Btw, welche Schneehöhlenform ist einfacher und gleichzeitig praktischer? Weshalb?

Eine interessante Quizfrage.

Die praktischste Form für eine Schneehöhle, in die sich ohne großen Aufwand eine aufgeblasene Downmat unfallfrei lässt, wäre IMO eine rechteckige Grube, die mit Tarp/Plane von oben verschlossen wird. Dann würde die Downmat auch Sinn machen, weil es bei dieser Bauweise ziemlich kalt werden würde.

Downmat in einer Schneehöhle aufpumpen stelle ich mir schwierig vor.

Sollte mit der PUmp-tube verlängerung eigentlich kein problem sein. Die wiegt fast nichts und ist auch in anderen situationen wie beengten zelten praktisch.

Wenn du kein extra equipment kaufen willst ists auch kein problem:
Während des aufpumpens lehnst du die Downmat einfach an die wand deiner schneehöhle.
Dann musst du nicht auf der donwmat knien zum pumpen. Je nachdem wie hoch deine schneehöhlen ist bleibt die pumpposition aber eher unangenehm.

Have you ever slept in a snowcave Ebisch? If not you are in for a big surprise. The snow cave is a very pleasant accomodation, roomy but not big, temperature around 0C whatever outside temperature is, and absolutely quiet. The storm outside is barely audible at all. I have slept just three times in this, but it was a nice experience. Only minus is the work it takes to build it, it takes about 2-3 hours to make good a two person cave.

What type is "best" depends on what possibilities there are. The best is the cave in a snowdrift if there are drifts available. This cave is warmest, the coldest is where you just dig down in flat terrain. A flat terrain cave may have several degrees minus inside. I did not find any english or german description, just this in norwegian. Illustrations are good however.

Just last week a couple were rescued after staying in a snowcave for two nights here in Norway. The weather was too bad for helicopter or snowmobiles, but they were lucky to have contact on a cellphone. Without the snowcave they would surely have died in the storm. They had no sleeping bags, but they claimed it had not been very cold still.

Winter -always in snowcaves! But not always that plenty of time and motivation to make it roomy.... I asked bec. in this special situation I had a lack of time bec. I was out during the week, in between two days of reg. work. So I had only 90 min for shovelling! Last year, with plenty of time, we built snowcaves, and slept in one with four persons, and still had plenty of room.

The temp´s in the cave are the reason why until today I didn´t buy a warmer sleepingbag, my contains only 450gr down. To, I love the silence! And the blue light inside on sunny days is awseome, sim. like in igloos!
