Seit ich meine mal im Hechtsprung schnappen musste

- diesen Rettungssprung hat meine Frau dieses Jahr im Rago NP auch einlegen müssen. Glücklicherweise hat das Tragegestell unserer Packtaschen einen Griff. Eine sehr empfehlenswerte Einrichtung.

Marcus my pulk is bought, you find the type here It is not the exact pulk as they have changed the types. OK pulk, I've only added some rubber strapping inside so that cargo keeps in place even if it turns upside down.

At home I have an old wooden Segebaden pulk as well as a homemade pulk for two dogs, (may load about 100kg) and a big sledge of the type Nansen used. One must have 4 to 10 dogs for the sledge, but it may take 250 kg of load.

No my dog never has a problem by eating snow. If it were a problem I'd be the first to know, for my BC has a very sensitive stomac. We never can let him eat bones of any kind, and must be careful when changing dog-food. Otherwis he gets diarrea.

What are you doing when your BC is thirsty?
In winter we just make day-tours. For Samson I take a Ortlieb waterbag with a 4 liter content with us. If he´s very thirsty (he have a thick coat and also in winter he is sweating very fast) he eats some snow until I give him to drink.
Sometimes he get a little bit diarrhoe. But it´s not a problem. A few hours later everything is normal again.

Yes I'll see what I can do about that. Must have some time though, it's perfect winter conditions here, and I was yesterday for a evening tour with my wife and dog, tonight is work (I go nightshift at a hospital). First priority is anoter trip today in the prepared tracks.

"What are you doing when your BC is thirsty?"
We give him water when arriving at the huts, and also beside the dry food he gets. He just drinks a litle after food, never else. He just eats snow, a litle bit now and then. Never thirsty, yes I've checked and offered him water often. He just looks upon it , may take a few licks of the bowl just to be polite.

On longer trips we take only the amount of fluid water that we plan to drink during the day. When arriving at the huts we either find some running water or melt snow.

So, viele hier sind ja der Meinung, dass Melkfett/Vaseline reicht, aber nachdem jetzt feststeht, dass wir nächsten Sommer eine längere Trekkingtour in Skandinavien machen werden habe ich von Ruff Wear Schuhe besorgt. (Na gut, ich war im Outdoorladen und hatte akute Shopping-Lust )
Mal sehen wie die sich bei Schnee machen, im Gebirge sind die bestimmt auch nicht verkehrt und wenn wir sie nicht brauchen bzw. Lisa sich partout weigert, werd' ich sie hier im Forum oder auf eBay wohl anbieten müssen.
