Skandinavien - Wintertour mit Ski, Pulka und Zelt

Hallo zusammen,
im Februar 2012 möchte ich gerne mit meinem Hund eine Skitour mit Pulka und Zelt in Skandinavien machen, unsere Erste. Meine Wintererfahrung beläuft sich aber bis jetzt nur auf den Alpenraum, wo ich aber schon öfters bei -20°C biwakiert habe. Alpine Skitouren habe ich auch schon viele hinter mir, aber der Telemarkski inklusive der Bindung sind mir neu, ebenfalls das gehen mit der Pulka. Die Ausrüstung für Skandinavien ist aber bereits vorhanden und so fern der Winter mitspielt, kann ich mich mit der Technik (Ski und Bindung) in den Alpen noch vertraut machen. Dies nur zur besseren Einschätzung....

Nun bin ich auf der Suche nach einer Tour für ca. 10-12 Tage, ob Schweden oder Norwegen spielt keine Rolle. Da ich mit dem Auto anreise, sollte sie nicht viel höher als Trondheim sein.

Da ich die Karten von Jotunheimen West und Ost bereits habe, habe ich nach einer geeigneten Tour gesucht.

Hat die folgende Tour schon jemand mit Ski und Pulka gemacht? Den Reisebericht einer kürzeren Variante, allerdings mit Rucksack, habe ich bereits mit der Suchfunktion gefunden.

Gjendesheim - Gjendebu - Olavsbu - Fondsbu - Skogadalsboen - Leirvassbu - Spiterstulen - Glitterheim - Gjendelheim

Kann man das so mit der Pulka machen? Wie sieht es in den Tälern mit der Lawinengefahr aus?

Habt Ihr event. noch weitere Vorschläge für mich? Wichtig wäre mir, dass man nicht alle 5 Minuten von einen Schneemobil überholt wird.

Da ich so um die 4 Wochen zur Verfügung habe, würde ich gerne noch eine kleine Testtour von 2-4 Tagen machen, wenn die ohne Probleme abläuft, würde es auf die "Große" gehen. Inclusive noch der Touren in den Alpen, sollte es Zeit genug sein um mich mit der Technik vertraut zu machen.

Wenn Ihr event. noch weitere Vorschläge oder Erfahrungen zur oben genannten Tour habt, würde ich mich sehr freuen!

Kann man das so mit der Pulka machen? Wie sieht es in den Tälern mit der Lawinengefahr aus?

Gemacht nur teilweise, kenne aber das Gelände der restlichen Tour bis auf wenige Ausnahmen von Skitouren mit Rucksack.

Grundsätzlich denke ich, dass das mit Pulka ziemlich gut machbar ist, nur der Hang von Spiterstulen in Richtung Glitterheim kann nervig sein, da die Loipe diagonal zum Hang geht und Pulkas eine Tendenz haben, seitlich abzurutschen. Das gilt auch für die Abfahrt von Fondsbu nach Skogadalsbøen. Also machbar, aber abschnittsweise nervig. Pulkas verhalten sich halt immer mal ziemlich eigenwillig, aber damit muss man umgehen lernen, wenn man mit Pulka unterwegs ist.

Zur Lawinengefahr ist zu sagen, dass die Winterrouten oft anders verlaufen als Sommerrouten (ist aber auf der Karte entsprechend eingezeichnet), weil a) Gewässer überquert werden können und b) lawinengefährliche Täler und Hänge grundsätzlich schon mal vermieden werden.
Fazit: die markierten Winterrouten durch Jotunheimen sind prinzipiell lawinenungefährdet. Ausnahmesituationen und vor allem -verhältnisse kann es immer mal geben (wetter- und schneefallbedingt), darauf muss man dann ggf. eingestellt sein und sich entsprechend verhalten oder bei extremer Lawinengefahr die Route umlegen und noch weiter weg vom Hang gehen.

Zeke is right, but the link did not point at the rules. I snatched them and they are this: "Special rules apply to the importation of animals. See www.mattilsynet.no for further information. Dogs, cats and ferrets from all EU countries except Sweden must have a pet passport, ID marking, a valid rabies vaccination and valid blood sample documentation (does not apply to ferrets). Dogs and cats must also be given an approved medicament against tapeworm in the week before and the week following their importation." If you contact your vet they will know and advise you what to do.

I also travel a lot with my dog, and there are not one single track that others go skiing that I may not travel with my dog. (yet ) In worst cases I have as part of the equipment an extra rope about 20 metres long. When going up I "park" the dog, walk up the length of the rope and help him pull the pulk up to me. Then repeat this until you are up. If the snow is deep this may be hard work, but you get up! Down is similar only you disconnect the dog from the pulk. Lower the pulk with the rope and make the dog lie down and hold the pulk while you get down to the pulk and hold it. Then call the dog to you and repeat. Down is usually easier, and the most common method is to take the rope round the pulk (over and under) so it works as a brake.

Since yu are not so fond of snowmobiles Sweden is not so good for you. They allow far much more traffic than in Norway.

Since I decided to get a dog, I checked those countries, that I am interested in, about their regulations to get a dog in. Luckily Sakima, my dog, has all the numbers in his blood on the right level! This year we made together our first vacation in Norway. We had no trouble at all to pass the border in Sweden and Norway as well. Thanks to the very nice and helpful people in Dombas, I was able to find very quick a veterinarian who did the rest to fulfill the regulations! This took me not more than 1.5 hours.

Otto, since you have a dog, I would be very thankful if you could answer me a question regarding the huts in norway. If I understood it right, are dogs in norwegian Fjellstations forbidden but allowed in huts when I am alone or nobody else is disturbed by the dog. Is this right? In autumn I had no intension to get in to a Fjellstation or hut at all, but in winter I am sure that I will very happy to spend some resting days in a cosy hut!

Regarding pulling the pulk, my plan is, if the terrain is easy for the dog, he should pull, but when it is getting difficult, I pull. But you are right, it would be handy to bring a rope along.

Are there any other tours with the same start- and ending point, which are good for 10-14 days with 15-30KM per day? Please no further than 100-200Km after Trondheim.....

No that is not quite right. The DNT as an organisation does not have one policy regarding dogs in the huts. DNT consists of several independant TF (Tourist Forening) and each one decides how the rules should be in their huts. But to make it short, the only way to be sure is to use the map http://ut.no/kart and look up the hut and see what their rules are. However there is regional differences. For example all huts from Trondheim and north either allow dogs or have two huts and one of these is allowed for dogs.

Most huts on the west coast also allow dogs. Some time ago there was a debate in DNT about it, and the DNTOA (Oslo) was the only one with majority against dogs.
