Habe gerade eine site gefunden auf der man Rucksäcke nach Maß bestellen kann!

Schon öfter davon gehört, machen auch regelmäßig Werbung im Climbing Magazine.
Vor längerer Zeit wurden die Rucksäcke im Rock and Ice getestet (mit arcteryx, DanaDesign,...) haben ganz ordentlich abgeschnitten, der Brüller waren sie wohl nicht, allerdings ganz gut, wenn es um extrem schwere Lasten geht (über 35kg, wenn ich mich richtig erinnere). Da die anderen Rucksackhersteller mittlerweile aber verschiedene Rückenlängen, Hüftgurte, Tragegurte,.. anbieten, dürfte man auf ähnlich gutes Niveau kommen.

Auch da wieder interessant, daß einige Hersteller (z.B. Bach, DanaDesign,...., und auch McHale) Tragesysteme ohne viel laminierten und geformten Schnickschnack anbieten und damit super Tragekomfort erreichen, andere mit viel Aufwand Polster genau anzupassen versuchen (z.B. Arcteryx) und i.d.R. nicht mehr Tragekomfort erreichen.

Soviel ich weiß, kann man bei McHale auch ein Video zur Produktbeschreibung bestellen. Richtig interessant ist die Firma sowieso nur, wenn man selbst hinfahren kann und sich was entsprechendes anpassen läßt.

McHale liefert eh nur nach USA.

Hast du den Test vielleicht und könntest ihn einscannen?
Finde das Konzept sich einen passenden Rucksack maßschneidern zu lassen eigentlich genial.
Schade dass es das nicht hier in D gibt.
Die Preise sind aber auch entsprechend...

Werde mal suchen.
Glaubst Du nicht, mit dem System der verschiedenen Rückenlängen, Träger, Hüftgurte findest Du etwas, das genauso gut paßt oder geht´s Dir auch um die Ausstattung? Wenn ja, frag´doch mal bei Bach an, ob sie etwas entsprechendes anbieten können, meist sind es ja eh nur Kleinigkeiten, die man geändert haben will.

nee, eigentlich will ich keinen neuen Sack.
Hab nen Dana und werd den nicht mehr hergeben.

Mich interessiert nur genaueres/objektives zu McHale. ist mehr informativer Natur. Wenn du es trotzdem scannen könnsest wenn du es findest wäre nett.
Auf der hp von rock&ice sind leider nur dieTests der letzten 10 Ausgaben.

Hab´auch ´nen Dana Alpine und würde ihn nicht hergeben (nicht gegen Arcteryyx, Gregory,...). Dana Design hat damals im Test deutlich besser abgeschnitten, als McHale und die anderen Konkurenten (Arcteryx, Gregory, Lowe, Osprey, NorthFace, kelty,...), allerdings war das bereits 1996. Damals war Dana ´gerade in Bestform, Arcteryx und Osprey starteten erst langsam durch.
Wäre leider zu aufwändig den ganzen Test abzudrucken, deshalb hier der Auszug über McHale (Preis damals $ 549,-, volume 7500cubic inches, dürfte ca. 125l sein?):

McHale Bayonet Alpineer Prior to this review, I had long heard rumors about a custom manufacturer in Seattle who made some of the best big-load packs around. At first glance, the Alpineer seemed downright primitive — but looks can be deceiving and there is a lot to justify the outrageous price Because this pack is specifically made to fit you, the uncluttered, non-adjustable suspension system is refreshing and effective.
The unique wrap-around hipbelt distributes the load surprisingly well, with no pressure points. A lumbar pad fits inside the pack to offer greater support and cushioning when carrying very heavy loads. Two buckles, rather than the usual one, allow a superb fit. Be sure to order side-release buckles instead of the standard Fixlocks — a hassle to put on because you have to thread the webbing. Pass on the optional belt handles, however, which are only slightly less stupid than the wrist leashes some other com ponies offer. (Get trekking poles instead.]
This is possibly the world's tallest pack; that helps with the center of gravity but also makes bushwhacking a pain and impedes headroom. The convertible top pocket is functional, although a decade behind the times. This pack's ability to handle loads that other packs balk at is due, in part, to its expensive aluminum stays, which are bolted to a spreader bar at the base. The frame, as a result, is far stiffer than any other — remarkable, considering the Bayonet's frame is a two-part, take-apart design. By pulling out the stay extensions, the pack converts handily into a smaller size that works reasonably well. [You save $50 if you don't need this feature.] The shoulder-straps are also slightly easier to adjust than those of other brands because the strap-tension and stabilizer functions are neatly separated. However, the straps lack the curvature and quality pack-cloth of other packs.
The giant maw of a sleeping-bag compartment on this pack has few rivals when it comes to ease of use, while the internal shelf prevents roundout. Other niceties include a detachable backpad, great for backcountry seating, and a large rear pocket for sundries. The construction is bombproof, but the Spectra thread is much ado about nothing.
Is the most expensive pack on the market worth it? If your body shape or size is outside the norm, a custom pack may be your only option. Also, if you are the type who feels 100 pounds is o normal load, then these packs have no rival . For the rest of us—particularly those who can't visit the Seattle store for a personal fit (though all buyers do get a video of Dan McHale going over the details), the question is more problematic. It is clearly the Hummer of the pack world: burly, functional and pricey. But not sexy.

Falls Du nach Seattle kommst, ist ein Besuch bei Dan McHale sicherlich interessant, das Konzept ist eigentlich klasse, besonders in einer Zeit, wo sogar Arcteryx in China fertigt.
Spannend die Karte, wieviel Rucksäcke (nach Bundesstaat geordnet) im Jahr ausgeliefert werden.

Evtl. geht ein Kommilitone von mir nach Seattle. Den werd ich dann besuchen und dann auch mal da vorbeischauen! Werde dann hier davon breichten wenn es klappt. Würd mich ja wirklich mal interssieren so ein Ding in Natura zu betrachten...
