Hi Geo,

that is a really cool hike.

I´m going to hike the AT next year which is 2000 miles and found some great internet sites concerning longdistance hiking including the Pacifix Crest Trail, the Continental Divide Trail and the Appalachian Trail.

A good point to start might be http://www.thruhikers.com which is a nice not overcrowded message-board.
