    Equipment Hiking&backpack

    Hey
What kind of preparation do you think is useful for a grand canyon up-and down hiking tour? i don't think of condition and training etc., but what kind of equipment is useful? Of course I need a tent, water, sleeping back, flamer, but what else?
Well, normaly I would throw everything i need in the backpack, but when i need something I have to make a break, dumbing everything out, befor I've find what I need. That's the wrong way. I know.hehehe. :wink:So what's the best way to organize the backpack?
Heavy things bottom, light things top,
    see ya

Gedanken springen wie Flöhe, aber sie beißen nicht jeden.

Never been there in such hot areas, but i would take the following things with me:
    - a lot of water (at least 3 l)
    - a good filter to prepare drinkable water

I also would talk to some persons who work there as rangers (f.e.) - or contact the tourist information there. All of them should have important informations about traveling&hiking there.

Maybe you also can ask some persons in de.rec.outdoors

After much research, consideration, and experimentation, I have decided that adulthood is nothing for me. Thank you for the opportunity.

          Hi Henri.

Well, I think the best you could do is to go hiking with someone who has years of experience in this field.. He'll show you everything you need..

Or you talk to experienced people and ask them about hiking... And then you'll try it by yourself..
